What we check

Worth knowing in South Africa

The suffix says what the entity is

The two digits after the second slash encode the entity type — 07 for a private company. A number ending differently describes something other than a Pty Ltd, and the D-U-N-S record must match.

Registered name, not trading name

Many South African companies trade under a name that is not the one on the CIPC register. Apple checks the registered name, so that is the one to give us.
